As I paint dogs, I'm struck by their boundless capacity for love. It stands in stark contrast to the complex dance of human relationships, where pride, ego, and old wounds cast long shadows. The affection of a dog is pure and simple, without judgment or expectation. What would it feel like to exist in that openhearted space, and experience this unencumbered quality of love?
